I bought this TV about 2 weeks ago and it took me a while to set it up and get it looking good. first thing you should do is make sure none of the eco-settings are on or you'll get the problems of the screen going from bright to dim every few seconds. I have my set on standard contrast because dynamic was really really bright. the screen is very crisp and im really enjoying movies and TV again. the automotion plus is kinda ok with me on some movies and a pain in the butt in others. it makes everything so smooth that it kinda resembles VHS recorded comercials. then there are other times where it actually stutters a little. I plan on watching the original star wars trilogy this weekend to see how cool those movies look on it.



I plan on running my internet connection to the TV as well because it's setup for netflix and Amazon-on-demand so Im sure i'll be using those services a lot. Xbox360 games look amazing on this thing. Im very happy with it so far.

I have to honestly say that over my electronics purchases over my lifetime - this tv is the best value bar none! 4 years back I purchased the state of the art samsung lcd 32" tv which was great at the time - but I just recently replaced it with this model. You will be blown away - my old favorite DVDs Predator, Aliens, etc... Look so amazing its unreal. The video footage looks so good it looks pre-production because it looks so real. It is a whole different viewing experience. You will be re-experiencing your favorite DVDs in realistic quality! I also have a EPSON projector and it just doesn't feel the same as this tv. This tv is crystal clear - with amazing color and sharpness. You can look up my other reviews - but I honestly have to say you cannot go wrong with this tv. To me its just magic - that you can buy such a high quality viewing experience at this price! Simply Amazing!

I have been actively searching for an lcd tv for 6years. Every newspaper circular etc.

I have a crt tv that worked fine and I really enjoyed seeing the prices on lcds drop and drop and drop. I finally upgraded with this beauty

This type of tv would have cost like $5000 a few years back, only difference is the advanced specs like 120hz,150,000:1 and 1080p did not exist back then.

I have almost pulled the trigger on a few, like sharp or panasonic but then as I became more educated by reading specs over years on the hi-def LCD, I realized Samsung was the leader in the game.

I paid $989 for this amazing product here, PC rich and Best Buy still charge $1185.



Pc Rich guys are really losers when it comes to negotiating a deal. They act like you need them...WRONG. I've got Amazon!! On time delivery,set up (tip the guy $10 it's a decent thing to do)

Amazon gives 30days free pickup warranty other stores only 21days.

To me nothing feels better than a sweet deal. Thanks Amazon.



PS. TV picture is very real and all features are outstanding, I love my TV.

I considered the LN6300 led but saw picture edge light problem reviews and that model is $400 more with no internet features.

We love this TV. Easy to setup and activate all of the extra features like Intenet access for Netflix. The picture is almost real. Sometimes we feel like we are watching a live play rather than a movie or TV show. My sister says she feels as if she could walk into the show.

Delivery was smooth. They did not call a half hour before hand like they said they would. Its a good thing I can work from home. Also the people who delivered the TV and were to setup the TV, did not know how to hook up an HDMI cable!!!! Good thing I can do that. Other than these few things, delivery was smooth and the delivery guys were fine.

I've had the TV for a month now and have been completely satisfied with the purchase. The quality and price beat any other LCD competitors.



I have to look into why the channel info says 60 hertz on the refresh but the TV is supposed to be 120 hertz. It looks like a marketing ploy that it's 60 hertz but software increases it 120 hertz. Regardless, the HD video looks excellent so not a big deal.

The TV is everything I needed plus internet which hasnt been installed yet. Got a Belkin router to run internet movies on the TV. The router is fantastic but needed instruction from maker how to set up with cable internet. Also had to have cable come in (twice) to set up connection for the TV. Cable here makes every thing hard to do. Once everthing was set up the TV works perfactly. Also the delivery provided by Amazon was great. No problem but an optional small charge to put the stand on. It has to be balanced and not good for one person to do alone.

Only one problem and has notheing to do with the TV..

If you get the promo with Amazon Store Card be prepared to have GE charge every fee they can. The promo said 24 month NO INTEREST on payments. Wrong....GE still charged fee. Beware for back and forth resolution. Still not corrected yet. But the TV is everything it said it is.

This set was amazing--great picture quality, worked well, etc., but then at about the two year mark the set simply just started turning itself on then off then on and then off etc. endlessly without even touching the remote control. I did a web search and, apparently, this is a VERY common problem with Samsung LCD TV sets. It appears that inferior capacitors are used and that the tops of the capacitors literally fall off over time, causing the sets to be stuck in a start-up/shut-down loop. This is too bad because, while the set worked, it was the best picture I've ever had on a TV set. However, when I spend $2K for a TV, I expect it to last longer than two years.

"I'm an everyday user, i.e. NOT a technophile. I did some research before buying, but at the end of the day, I wanted something I could enjoy without spending a fortune, and I'm happy with what we got. Some tips on buying your TV, whether this one or another:

1) 120 Hz refresh rate -- great for future-proofing, but realize that your cable box may not yet transmit in anything faster than 60 Hz. I don't know if this is different for satellite or antenna transmissions. Also, make sure you buy an appropriate HDMI cable that supports 120 Hz...this should be listed on the package. (Although it may not be needed now, it will be when the cable boxes update again.)

2) 1080p -- crystal-clear picture when watching 720p or 1080i programming (nothing on cable is shot in 1080p yet) or 1080p Blu-Ray video. The picture is almost kind of eerie at first, sort of like a soap opera-type appearance, which can be unusual if you're not used to it. I adjusted to it quickly, but it took my wife some time. In the store, ask them to show you something on the airwaves in full HD, or have them run a standard DVD if you think you'll be watching that some via your Blu-Ray player. It is definitely an adjustment.

3) Sound -- always a knock on TVs, though for my purposes, it's fine (it's in our living room, not our media room). I really like the "night" option for the sound; it keeps the sounds from ebbing-and-flowing as dramatically, i.e. from conversation to a car chase, which is nice when you have kids in bed.

4) Computer connectivity -- I have a laptop with HDMI output, so we have connected that the TV and watched something streaming from websites. You can pay extra for "internet connectivity" applications like Netflix, Blockbuster, etc., though since we already had that with our Blu-Ray, we didn't duplicate with the TV. The easy computer connectivity is a nice feature."

After purchasing various items from Amazon and being completely satisfied, I decided to purchase a TV which I consider a major purchase. Delivery went like clockwork, Ceva unpacked, assembled and placed the TV. After they were sure it was working, they removed packing and left.

The TV quality is excellent. I have cable, the picture was great, I upgraded to a HD box, the picture is even better. I had some tech questions, called Samsung received quick and courteous answers. This is the best 40 inch LCD TV I have seen.

Amazon is a great place to buy.

It has been months that I followed HDTV prices until I found a Samsung C model that seems to be cheaper yet look gorgeous. I got my Samsung LN40C630 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV via Amazon since they offer cheaper price than what you commonly find online. The package arrived after four days which is the usual delivery duration and found the package intact and very light.



I excitedly took everything out of the box and tried to assemble the parts. It was so easy to set up the stand. It says simply slip in the TV and put the screws, and after that it was already done! The assembly was so easy that I was able to do it without any help. I simply used my power screw driver to drive the screws in, there were nine of them. I linked my PS3 via HDMI cable and the display is surprisingly great!



Samsung LN40C630 HDTV has turned my living room into a perfect entertainment center. Samsung 630 has toppled all other models with respect to specification and features, and as I compared the prices, though the 630 model is a bit higher in price, it is still worth your investment. I found out further that it has 120 Hz refresh rate compared to the other model having 60 Hz refresh time only.



In my opinion, my new Samsung 630 is much preferable since it displays to times more in terms of frames-per-second then other models producing more smooth pictures which is great for watching movies and sports.



The Samsung LN40C630 has a response time which is also different form other models. IT has much lower response time of 4ms while the other models generally have 6ms response time. For me, as I play games with my TV always, this 2ms difference is already an advantage.



As for the contrast ration, my new HDTV Samsung model 630 has contrast ratio of 80,000:1 which produces excellent display depth. Generally, most TVs with contrast ratio above 70,000 is considered stable.



The Samsung 630 gives me the opportunity to enjoy various kinds of media. It is a great experience watching movies pr playing games with the aid of its special features.



I also found some great features of Samsung 630 that are much different from other models. One is the Connect Share Movie Feature that allows me to link my flash drive directly into the TV. The interface is very user friendly while watching outstanding videos, viewing pictures, and many more via the convenience of a remote control.



My new HDTV, with its refresh rate of 120, creates excellent 3D pictures and allows me to experience 3D reality as I connected it to my Samsung 3D Blue ray disc player.



There is also DNSe feature that gives out amazing sound quality with plenty of natural effects. Installed with it is the BD wise which automatically controls all the settings to create the best picture and sound.



I can easily link the HDTV to any network at home with its either wire or wireless capabilities. This provides me to experience quick access to my video files that I kept on my personal computer.



When it comes to energy savings, my new Samsung LN40C630 is very energy efficient. You can save more on your energy bill and it is environment friendly as well. The energy efficiency of Samsung 630 is 43% more which is higher than the required minimum.



Finally, I never have any feeling of regrets to have purchased my new Samsung 530 model since it is the brand that I really trust. As we all know, Samsung has held on to its commitment to provide high standard televisions and so far, I have not heard any negative comment or feed back about this new model.

I am very satisfied with this TV thus far. We replaced a 42 inch Vizio which failed after almost exactly 2 years. Needless to say, I was simmering mad. $1400. down the toilet. But I digress. Anyway, after lots of research this Samsung just beat the pack in specs and consumer reviews (the only ones that matter). The price was almost half what I paid for the Vizio and with a 120Hz refresh rate it is a very good bargain. The only slightly negative comment I have is that the onboard sound is not as good as the Vizio. Having learned my lesson the hard way, I purchased the 4-year Square Trade Warranty offered by Amazon. It was only 80 something dollars and I easily justified it to myself since the cost of the TV at Amazon was $50 dollars cheaper than anywhere else I could find it! I highly recommend this additional purchase. It's cheap insurance..just in case this TV does not age well. Finally, I have to comment about the shipping. I opted for normal delivery and though it took a couple of weeks for me to get the unit (I think it was back-ordered) the company in my area that delivered it was outstanding. Anyware Express gave me "white glove" delivery which included setup and removal of the dead Vizio at no charge. Good experience all the way around.

The TV set was delivered within the time frame I specified. Delivery person was courteous. Now getting to the TV. I read the Amazon reviews on the 2009 models for the TV's in this series and was impressed by what they wrote. I went to a local store and checked out the TV there and compared it to the other major brands. I could not see any difference between this set and more expensive ones.



After unpacking the set I attached the smoked glass base by myself though Samsung recommends 2 people. The set swivels which is a nice touch when you might want to sit off center. I did not have to make any adjustments to the picture, it was perfect (in my eyes) right off the bat. Flesh tones were perfect. The sound is good, it's not tinny, has a fullness to it. This is a good buy for the money. So far I've been very pleased with this purchase.
