 "As expected" 2010-08-10

Overall I am satisfied with this tv. The power cord was missing on arrival. It is what I expected it to be, no big surprises, except the power cord missing. It was a good deal that I could not find any where else.

"Great Picture, and a Nice Monitor Too" 2010-07-21
By Jack of all Trades, Master of None
Got this to use while my larger Vizio was to get repaired, well turns out my other Vizio just had a bad HDMI cable. But this works so good as my laptop monitor, I use it to watch tv at my desk, as my monitor, and have it connected to my Blu-ray DVD player. A nice little addition.

"Very Pleased with the Samsung 530" 2010-09-11
By Malinda R
Third time's the charm. And am I glad I found this Samsung! I must admit purchasing at a local store but would have happily bought it from Amazon and saved money.

Here's the deal; I wanted a 32" HDTV for a spare bedroom in the 500 dollar range. First went with the Sony 32EX400. Now this may sound like a crazy reason for going with the Sony but I chose it because I discovered with my Dish Network remote control if you find the correct TV code, then the (*) asterisk button on lower left of the Dish's remote will activate the Sony's Sleep Timer. Hooked up the Sony to the HDMI from the Dish Receiver and there was a glitch where it says it cannot locate any HDMI device. Screen is black unless I unplug the HDMI then put back in. More issues with that Sony but long story short I took it back. The local store had received a new shipment of that Sony (and with different serial number series) so I risked trying the same model. Hooked the second one up and still had the HDMI issue. I wanted to make sure it wasn't on my end so I hooked up an HDTV from another bedroom: no problem, so I knew the Sony was going back and I'd go with a different brand. Did my online homework and this Samsung 530 seemed to fit the bill. Wow! What a difference between the Sony and this Samsung! I haven't even touched the Samsung to adjust contrast or color. The Sony was dim right out of the box on both sets I tried.

Love the remote control on this Samsung. Nice big buttons and color coding is a plus for a bedroom TV. And it has a dedicated "SLEEP" timer button on the remote. No hunting through a menu. I've included a pic in the photo area.

Tip for Dish Network users: If you program the Dish's remote control "TV" mode button to code 858, it will work like the Sony, allowing the (*) asterisk button to activate the "Sleep Timer". No more switching remotes to set the timer.

I would recommend this set to anyone looking in this price range.

 "Amazing TV!" 2010-08-23
By Mei Mei Le (Philadelphia, PA)
I did a lot of research and comparisons before making this purchase, and this came out the winner. The price is terrific for a 32in Samsung. The picture and sound are amazing right out of the box. The cosmetic of this TV is lovely. Setup was easy, and everything else is pretty much self-explanatory. No problems with it yet. Samsung won again! Yay!

Great picture and no sound, this was our experience with this HDTV. Buyer beware on the quality control on this model. Our advice is to try another model.

"Looking for a great cheap 32inch HD, THIS is the one to get!" 2010-06-19
By Colin V. G. Quinsland
I got this TV a little over a month ago, and have not once regretted the purchase. Before this TV I had a 32 inch Sony KDL-V32XBR1 for over 5 years, and finally decided now was going to be the time to get my own as I am moving out of my house. I did some research and found that Samsung was definitely in the lead in terms of quality and price, and finally settled on this model. I got it for 499 on sale at Best Buy, and the difference was incredible! This monitor is BEAUTIFUL, especially for 500 bucks! You might want to do a little tweaking with the color settings, but it usually does a very good job looking great without any help from you. I have HD Cable, a Xbox 360 hooked up via Component, and a PS3 hooked up with HDMI. The TV automatically senses which ports are active and only switches between the ones that have an incoming signal going to them, which is really convenient. It also has a power setting which defaults to on which will detect the ambient light and lower the back-lighting on the monitor to save power. I personally found that it lowered the light too much, as I like my movies bright and colorful, so I ended up turning it off, which I would recommend to anyone who doesn't mind spending a little extra power on their picture.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I originally had a hard time with ghosting showing up on bluray like another reviewer, but it just didn't make sense and unlike the other reviewer, after a little research I found that Digital Noise Reduction filters cause all the ghosting with HDTV's these days, so once I turned that off in the TV's menu, everything was back to being incredibly sharp and quick! Just make sure to turn that off when gaming or watching High Def movies, and you will NEVER look back on getting this TV. It has an incredible amount of BANG for the buck.

"The Samsung LN32C530 TV has an important advantage" 2010-06-05
By William E. Bender (Ocean City, NJ USA)
I recently purchased the Samsung LN32C530 TV and I love it. We installed it in the bedroom, and it has a feature that is a big advantage for us: the "timer on" to wake us in the morning. We use it as our alarm clock to awaken us. Almost all TVs have a "timer off" feature or a "sleep timer", but Samsung is one of the few TV manufacturers who offer the "timer on" advantage.

Also, I become amused by a review that complains that he had to put 4 screws into 4 screw holes to install the base. Is he joking? We installed the base and had it operational in about 10 minutes with no problems, and I am a senior citizen.

This is my 2nd Samsung TV purchase this year, and they offer a superior picture at minimal price.Samsung LN32C530 32-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

 "Perfect for my needs" 2010-06-12
By R. Thompson
This was my first HDTV so I went a little crazy comparing all the models out there. It's for my bedroom so I knew I wanted a set around 32''. This TV is PERFECT! When I bought this at a local store they had all the 32'' sets side by side and this one blew them away. The blacks are black, the colors are vivid and the picture is SHARP. I have it hooked up to cable (720p), a blue ray player (1080p), and a Wii; they all look amazing. The sound with the bluray player is also very impressive for in TV speakers. I'm definitely going to look at other Sony Bravia products for my next TV. I now want a 50'' for the living room so if you have suggestions let me know :)

 "Not bad... but" 2010-05-29
By Carlos Ospina (Valencia, Venezuela)
Well, the picture is clear, and looks good, didnt notice the audio issue, but the channels change tooo slow and this is not a new model, the manufacture date is APRIL 2009... and yes the /9 is just a sticker in the box... I would return it but the cost would be higher to me... for the first time I'm dissapointed with amazon.

 "Bravia" 2010-05-29
By Joshua Perry
Got it to go with a bravia blue ray/surround system. The resulting picture from the hdmi is unbelievable, and the bravia sync works very well. Picture through co-ax and video inputs were a bit worse than expected, but the component input produces near hdmi clarity. Also the menus allow for very detailed adjustments of the picture and input settings. I am very satisfied with this tv.

 "Sticky pixels are bad" 2010-05-25
By G. Steere
I bought this TV for use as a computer monitor (to pair with my 2 LG 32LH30s for a 3 monitor configuration). The picture was pretty good, but from the first day there was issues with sticky pixels. If I typed any text on a white background then back spaced, several pixels would remain blue where the text was formally. I've never seen this type of issue with any TV (and I've used lots as monitors). Additionally after a few weeks several pixels stuck on white and would not change back at all. This is not acceptable for a TV less than a month old.

I also encountered the sound cut out issue that others have discussed. Since this was being used as a monitor I wasn't too concerned about it (at least not enough to deal with the hassle of shipping it back), but combined with the pixels already going bad it was time to box it up.

Last remarks, from the new entry on Amazon (March 24, 2010) they lead you to believe this is a new model. I found out this was not the case at all. The MFG date was August 09 and the "/9" appended to the model number was just a sticker stuck on the outside of the box. This actually made it older than my two LG monitors I bought in October and January and just seemed a bit deceptive to me. Check the reviews for the KDL-32S5100 since as far as I can tell it is the same.

This would have been my 6th HDTV purchase overall in the past 3 years and its the first one I've returned. Sony definitely doesn't mean quality like it used too.
